조금 다른 - 데이비드 염  DAVID YOUM

의자는 작가입니다.

큰 나무 그늘이 되어 많은 사람들에게 안식과 쉼을 주고 싶었는데,

지금은 볼품없는 작은 의자입니다.

그래도 간혹 잠깐 쉬어가면 안되겠냐고 묻는 사람이 있고,

안식처를 찾아 헤매는 이들에게 자리를 내어 줄 수 있어 감사할 뿐입니다.

까짓, 정 안되면 나중에 불멍에 쓸 장작이라도 되어 누군가의 꿈이 조금이라도 따뜻해진다면 좋지 않을까요?

The chair is the artist.

It once dreamed of becoming the shade of a great tree, offering rest and comfort to many.

But now, it stands as nothing more than a humble, small chair.

Still, there are times when someone asks if they might sit for a moment.

And for those wandering in search of a resting place, it feels grateful to offer them a seat.

If nothing else, perhaps one day it can become firewood for someone’s bonfire –warming their dreams, even just a little.

Wouldn't that be enough?
