바나나껍질을 뒤집어쓴 강아지가 누워 있습니다. 눈은 감겨 있고, 조용한 공기 속에 그대로 녹아든 듯한 모습입니다. 그 위로는 커다란 말풍선이 떠 있고, 그 안엔 “SLOW”라는 단어가 점점 작아지며 반복되고 있습니다. 마치 잠든 사이에도 속삭이듯 이어지는 주문처럼 느껴집니다.

이 장면은 아무것도 하지 않는 상태를 적극적으로 받아들이고 있습니다. 강아지는 움직이지 않습니다. 잠들어 있거나, 잠에 들기 직전의 흐릿한 경계에 서 있는 듯합니다. 그러나 그 모습은 무기력하거나 비어 있는 것이 아닙니다.

〈Lazy Day〉는 ‘게으름’이라는 단어에 붙은 부정적인 인식에 조용히 질문을 던집니다. 아무것도 하지 않는 하루는 정말 불필요한 시간일까. 그 느리고 나른한 시간은, 사실 감정을 회복하고 나 자신으로 다시 돌아오는 데 필요한 시간이 아닐까.

화면 가득 번진 부드러운 색감은 시간의 경계마저 흐리게 만듭니다. 어디까지가 빛이고, 어디부터가 그림자인지 모를 정도로. 이 느슨한 흐름은 단순한 정지 상태가 아니라, 사유가 시작되는 조용한 문턱처럼 보입니다.

“SLOW”는 이 작품에서 하나의 메시지가 아니라 리듬에 가깝습니다. 반복되며 점점 작아지는 단어는 누군가의 숨결처럼 퍼져 나가고, 그 안에서 우리는 속도와 거리를 다시 생각하게 됩니다.

<Lazy Day> gently questions the negativity often tied to the word “lazy.”Is a day of doing nothing truly wasted?Or is that slow, sleepy stretch of time exactly what we need to recover—to return to ourselves?  

 The soft, blurred colors spread across the canvas, dissolving the line between time and stillness.You can’t quite tell where the light ends and the shadow begins.This gentle flow feels less like stopping, and more like a quiet threshold—where thought begins.

In this work, “SLOW” isn’t just a word—it’s a rhythm.Its fading repetition drifts like breath, inviting us to rethink our pace, our space, and how deeply we might need the stillness we so often avoid.
